Dynacast Shifting Production to New Plant in
China
Dynacast will close its Montreal diecasting plant by midyear as it
establishes a new “global manufacturing footprint.” Some of the
plant’s business will be transferred to a FisherCast operation in
Peterborough, ON, according to reports there, but a new operation in
China is the primary cause of the realignment.

NADCA Has Funding for HyperCAST R&D
HyperCAST aims to develop materials and processes for casting
high-strength lightweight components for automotive frames, bodies,
chassis and powertrain designs, for fuel-efficient passenger cars and
commercial and military trucks.

Executive Change at Vulcan Engineering
Plant and equipment builder Vulcan Engineering reports that Bruce
McMellon has announced his retirement as the company’s chief executive
officer. In line with what is described as “a planned transition,”
Edward J. LeVert will advance from chief operations officer to president
and CEO of the company.
