Milwaukee Foundry Expanding CGI Output
Mid-City Foundry Co. ordered a Mini-System 3000 process control system for compacted graphite iron production, to upgrade its use of the SinterCast process and begin independent series production of CGI parts. The foundry has been operating with on-site engineering support from SinterCast AB for three years as part of its niche production of cylinder heads, compressor housings, and other custom parts the industrial power market. Accuride Supplying Aluminum Wheels from Monterrey
Accuride Corp. is producing aluminum wheels at its Monterrey, Mexico, plant, following a transfer of a machining line to that operation from its Erie, PA, plant, earlier this year. The $13-million project was announced last November, and according to the company it makes Accuride de Mexico the only single-source supplier of steel and aluminum wheels for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles in that country.
