The U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration has contacted approximately 14,000 employers, identified by self-reported data, that they have higher-than-average injury and illness rates. Those notified have injury /illness rates of 5.3 (or more) dates away from work, restricted work activity, or job transfer (DART) for every 100 full-time workers.

The national average is 2.4 DART instances for every 100 workers.

Receiving the letter does not mean a work site will be inspected, according to OSHA; an announcement of a targeted inspection program will be made later this year.
