The VAC-U-MAX Model 1020 has a positive-displacement pump designed for high-volume recovery, up to 6 tons/hour.

Saudi Cast in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, produces about 880 metric tons/month of gray iron, ductile iron, bronze, and aluminum castings, with a green-sand molding operation that leaves plenty of residue to sweep away. So, when the operators looked for equipment to clean up the piles of foundry sand spilled on the floor they selected the VAC-U-MAX Model 1020 — available from Vac-U-Max (www.vac-u-max.com).

The 1020 has a positive-displacement pump designed for high-volume recovery, up to 6 tons/hour. It also is used to recover heavy materials like steel shot, metal powders, sludges, and other similar materials of similar. It is offered in 10- or 15-HP versions, with a continuous duty vacuum process that makes it tough enough for most of Saudi Cast’s maintenance problems.

One maintenance task that was taking hours to complete using shovels and numerous laborers has been cut to just a few minutes of clean-up time. And, for sand that has spilled on the floor, the Model 1020 is useful for cleaning out the underground pits that otherwise are highly inaccessible.
