Investment Caster Added to Boeings Tanker Team

American Aerospace Technical Castings Inc. (AATC) reports it has joined The Boeing Co.’s effort to win the contract for the U.S. Air Force's new fleet of aerial refueling tankers. Boeing is proposing its NewGen Tanker as a replacement for the KC-135, to service the Air Force’s mission requirements over the coming decades. For the world’s aircraft builders, the effort to win the assignment for the new tankers is one of the most intense in recent history. In addition to Boeing, Airbus parent company EADS is planning a bid to supply the program. Dennis Muilenburg, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, said the Boeing NewGen Tanker will satisfy all of the Air Force’s mandatory requirements and will be capable, survivable, and combat-ready.” AATC is a Phoenix-based aluminum and steel investment caster with Aerospace Quality Systems AS9100B, ISO 9001:2008, and Special Processing by Nadcap certification. It produces aerospace parts in small lots or long runs, in a variety of alloys, for military and commercial aircraft applications. The company has manufactured castings for Boeing for more than 22 years, and as a member of Boeing's United States Tanker Team, AATC it be eligible to increase orders if Boeing is awarded the U.S. Air Force tanker contract in 2010.
