Promises world-class technologies and local service
Two well-known brands of metalcasting process equipment have merged into an organization they call “the world’s leading metallic parts enhancement company.” DISA Group, a well-known builder of core and molding machinery and sand treatment system, has merged with Wheelabrator Group, manufacturers of various surface-treatment machines. No name has been announced for the combined organization. The combined organization employs 2,500 people on five continents. In addition to metalcasting, its areas of activity include aerospace, automotive, energy, medical components, rail, and marine. Both companies are owned by Mid Europa Partners, a private-equity group that focuses on Central and Eastern European companies. Germany’s anti-trust monitoring agency, the Bundeskartellamt, approved the merger that was initiated last September. Robert E. Joyce Jr., president and CEO of the merged company, stated: “This is an incredibly exciting time for the company, our employees and our customers. I am confident that the merger of DISA and Wheelabrator will provide our customers with world-class technologies and local service offers unparalleled in our industry.” Joyce said DISA and Wheelabrator have been working together to combine the best assets of both companies. “Our central focus as a merged company is simple - enhance our customers’ metallic parts and components,” Joyce continued. “We will do this by driving down their overall costs in two ways. First, we will focus on lowering their manufacturing cost-per-part and second, by providing a longer component life.” Joyce said the combination of DISA and Wheelabrator will offer advantages to customers. “Our technology can be found in multiple industries throughout the world. Our breadth of technical knowledge and local service delivery mean that we can provide our customers with solutions to their technical challenges anytime, anywhere and in any language,” he stated.
