Two Investment Casting Firms to Merge

Wisconsin Precision Casting buying Northern Precision Casting, with both operations retaining their identities “Synergistically” family-held businesses Less than 20 miles apart Emphasizing complex parts, quick turnaround

Two southern Wisconsin investment casting operations will be merged later this month, according to local reports. Wisconsin Precision Casting Corp. in East Troy is acquiring Northern Precision Casting Corp., Lake Geneva, with the latter becoming an operating division of the former but retaining its name and identity. The two operations are situated less than 20 miles apart.

The financial terms of the consolidation were not announced. Both companies are family-owned operations.

"With the strengths and talents that each operation brings to the table, we feel that there will be exciting possibilities for both our customers and employees," stated Cliff Fischer, co-owner and vice president of operations at Wisconsin Precision.

Wisconsin Precision Casting emphasizes precision cast parts with quick turnarounds, “from your solid model to metal in 7 business days, … no tooling required,” according to the company’s website. It is able to process more than 150 different ferrous and nonferrous alloys. According to its release, the acquisition will help Wisconsin Precision expand its market opportunities and accelerate its ability to serve industrial markets that require highly engineered castings.

Wisconsin Precision’s primary customer base are manufacturers of food-processing and health-care equipment, as well as some OEM customers.

Northern Precision Casting supplies casting to builders of machinery and construction equipment, industrial tools, and fluid handling systems.

"We see this transaction as a tremendous opportunity to synergistically integrate two Wisconsin family-held businesses with a combined 100-years-plus foundry knowledge and expertise into one larger and stronger company," according to Gary Giovannetti, chairman and director of marketing at Northern Precision Casting.
