GOODFELLOW CERAMIC and GLASS Division offers alumina crucibles in sizes ranging from 0.03 ml to multi-liter capacity, and with tolerances to suit specific customer applications. In addition to standard shapes – conical, cylindrical, cup, rectangular, round, shallow and tapered – the company can supply crucibles made to customer drawings.

Depending on the size, tolerance and number of pieces required, alumina crucibles can be

made by pressing, slip casting, or injection molding.

Alumina crucibles represent a cost-effective alternative to certain other materials when heat resistance and corrosion resistance are essential. Specifically, alumina offers:
·  Maximum operating temperature of approximately 1,700°C
·  Good strength and hardness
·  Chemical stability
·  Electrical insulation
