Compact Dry-Ice Blasting Machine

Oct. 23, 2017
Lightweight unit transports easily, and has manually adjustable settings for dry-ice consumption rate and blasting pressure

ASCO Inc.’s new ASCOJET 1208 dry-ice blasting unit is a compact and easy-to-handle machine with a new frame design and self-explanatory pictograms, suitable for industrial applications. The 107-lb. unit is easily carried to any place, thanks to the two, large, fixed rear wheels, as well as two lockable small front wheels. Housing and frame are made of powder coated steel. The newly integrated grounding roll and the pellet hopper’s protective grating help to guarantee even safer handling during the dry ice blasting process.

Consumption rates for average dry-ice volume and blasting pressure are easy to adjust manually.

"This high-performance machine is characterized by its lightness,” according to general manager Zane Butler. “Thanks to the compact design, the ASCOJET 1208 is also suitable for more delicate cleaning work. Since dry-ice blasting is a corrosion-free and non-abrasive process, even sensitive surfaces can be cleaned easily. The combination of high cleaning performance and relatively low compressed-air consumption is an additional bonus."

ASCO dry-ice blasting technology has been used successfully in various industries for decades, according to the developer. Molds, tools, and machines can be cleaned by using dry-ice blasting machines. In most cases, it is not necessary to dismantle the parts to be cleaned, which ensures shorter downtime and increased productivity during operation.
