New design combines cleaning with surface treatment in a flexible, high-pressure system with blast-cleaning option

ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD. launched a new dry ice blasting machine — the ASCOJET 2008 Combi Pro —its most powerful system to date and successor to the ASCOJET 2001RX pro. The new model combines a powerful double hose system, which can also be used as a one-hose-system, with the option of cleaning with dry ice pellets and the additional abrasive effect of an additive.

ASCO engineers combined past technical achievements and know-how in the ASCOJET 2008 Combi Pro. It provides high-end segments with a dry ice blasting machine that allows the exceptional cleaning performance, with up to 20 bar blasting pressure.

The convenient design and new ergonomic gun handle ensure easy handling during cleaning. Operators benefit from the ASCOJET 2008 Combi Pro’s flexibility thanks to the option of using the dry ice blasting unit as well as a one-hose-system.

Moreover, the additional option of blasting with an additive allows application of the ASCOJET 2008 Combi Pro in sections where the classical dry ice blasting technology is pushed to its limits due to the non-abrasive effects. Any molds, core boxes, ingot molds, etc., can be cleaned on-line and/or occasionally be roughened due to the combination of both the abrasive and non-abrasive cleaning method. The forms are barely cooled, production can be resumed immediately after the cleaning process and expensive downtimes can be avoided.

By including the additive dry ice blasting becomes an abrasive action, increasing the effectiveness of this technology on certain applications and achieving a highly efficient result. In return, dry ice blasting supports the corrosive effect of the abrasive blasting material and provides optimal protection of material due to the dry ice’s cooling effect. So, it protects the surface from overheating as may be the case with pure abrasive blasting processes.
