Mini Pneumatic Transporter for Sand

Compact design for lower-volume, shorter-distance material transfer requirements Cost-effective solution Minimal material degradation Reduced maintenance requirements

ALB. KLEIN TECHNOLOGY GROUP introduced the Plug Flo® Mini pneumatic transporter, a low-profile design with all the functional advantages of the manufacturer’s Plug Flo pneumatic conveying technology in a compact size, allowing it to be installed where space is limited.  Foundries with space limitations will appreciate the small scale, which also has lower operating and maintenance costs.

It’s described as “a cost-effective solution for applications with lower sand-transfer capacity requirements, shorter distance material transfer pipeline runs, and where there is little headroom under the material feed unit.”

The smaller design results in a system that offers minimal material degradation and transfer pipelines that last longer. In addition to reduced maintenance, the entire system is easy to install.

In operation, it achieves greater energy savings than comparable designs, with lower air consumption. That contributes to better quality cores, molds and castings, according to the developer.

The machine is easy to install and operate, with a simple, straightforward control package.

In addition, the Plug Flo Mini is recommended as a replacement for high-maintenance mechanical conveyors, such as bucket elevators and screw-type conveyors.

“Our new compact size Plug Flo Mini pneumatic transporter fits where other transporters don’t,” according to Alb. Klein’s president Chris Doerschlag, “and it uses our proven and reliable Plug Flo pneumatic transporter technology – which is gentle on sand, gentle on pipelines, and gentle on O&M budgets, ultimately resulting in better cores, molds, and castings.”

Klein develops handling systems for sand and related materials, including the low-velocity Plug Flo pneumatic sand transporter systems; vertical rotary-type Statormix and/or bowl type vibratory batch core sand mixers; sand heaters/coolers; binder/additive bellow-style pump and metering distribution system; direct air operated AKO pinch valves, green sand moisture control management system; and its Cerafume® high temp emissions control equipment.
