New CRM Module for Foundry-Focused ERP

B&L INFORMATION SYSTEMS is introducing a "customer relationship management" module for its Odyssey 5.0 ERP platform. CRM is one of several improvements and new functions available to users of Odyssey 5.0 MR2, now in general availability.

Odyssey is an enterprise-resource planning product developed specifically for diecasters and foundries, and designed to give everyone in such organizations the necessary information to complete jobs on time and on budget. The platform has modules that meet the specific needs of metalcasting's five major functions — management, accounting, sales, production and quality, so information can be shared and received by everyone, with no extra effort.

Odyssey 5.0 MR2 is available in two versions, a browser-based, Web User Interface (UI) version and a Windows UI version. New features in Odyssey 5.0 MR 2 include improved project tracking, by logging emails sent within the application
; new tools for adding surcharges and overriding accrued surcharges at invoicing; a new function to enter no charge requisitions and/or purchase orders
; and the ability to see planned shop orders that are past due within the current day.

As for Odyssey users’ experience the developers have implemented graphics improvements within the Intelligent Views
 interface, and enhanced the summary information with a new ability to define company goals (i.e., KPIs) for over 60 types of data (Web UI only).

The Odyssey Web UI has been improved with a Quick Quote function (based on Quote Templates) that automatically calculates field values and assignments; and the above-mentioned CRM module, which harnesses data about customers and quotes to track the sales "pipeline … from start to finish.”

“The new CRM module request originated from the Odyssey Customer Feedback Forum,” explained Matt Gacek, B&L Info’s vice president, business development. “There was a clear customer need in the industry which Odyssey can now address while users continue to have the convenience of having the needed information ‘housed’ within one data structure.

Odyssey 5.0 MR2 information is available via the B&L customer portal (Customer Login) for customers who host Odyssey on their own servers. Odyssey Cloud clients will be contacted by B&L's Technology Department with the update schedule.
