Hayes Lemmerz Names Head for New European Wheel Group

Bentley had been president of Commercial Highway/Aftermarket
Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. this week named Fred Bentley to succeed the retiring Giancarlo Dallera as president of Hayes Lemmerz' European Wheel Group, effective October 1. Bentley will report to company chairman and CEO Curtis Clawson, Hayes Lemmerz' Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

Hayes Lemmerz is among the leading suppliers of automotive and commercial vehicle wheels worldwide, as well as of brakes, powertrain parts, suspension system components, and structural and other lightweight elements. Bentley, 38, will be responsible for the European Fabricated Wheel and European Cast Aluminum Wheel businesses, and for wheel operations in Brazil, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, and India.

He joined Hayes Lemmerz in 2001 as president of the Commercial Highway and Aftermarket Group. Bentley had previously been managing director for Honeywell's Consumer Products Group- European and South Africa Automotive Aftermarket Operations. And, he had been general manager – heavy duty for AlliedSignal and plant manager for two of its manufacturing centers. Bentley holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. He completed Harvard University's Advanced Management Program.
