New molding line to start up next year
The Rushville, IN, foundry supplies automotive manufacturers, like the Toyota and Nissan North American organizations, with drums, rotors, calipers, and suspension components. Along with gray iron and ductile iron casting capabilities, Intat’s in-house machining allows it to be a direct supplier to customers’ assembly plants. It was started in 1989 and a greenfield facility was started in 1999.
Intat’s current expansion program involves a new DISA 240A molding line (the first in the U.S.), with Roberts Sinto autopouring systems and shotblasting; Aisco shakeout equipment; conveyors by General Kinematics; and a sprue-crushing system that Kodiak will supply. Kodiak Group is a foundry design and engineering firm based in Grayling, MI.
The project will also feature a high-efficiency dust-collection system. The new molding line is due to begin operating midway through 2004.
