FEF Chooses President for 2004-5

Simpson president/COO Bruce W. Dienst
At its recent Annual Meeting at Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON, the Foundry Educational Foundation (FEF) chose Simpson Technologies president and chief operating officer Bruce W. Dienst as the foundation’s president for 2004-2005.

Dienst served two-three year terms with FEF as an FEF Trustee and chairman of FEF Region 12, beginning in April 2001. He was FEF second vice president in 2002-2003 and first vice president in 2003-2004, before beginning the current turn as president. Dienst is also a member of the Metal Casting Industry Advisory Boards at Penn State University and Bradley University, Peoria, IL.

Dienst is a past president of the Casting Industry Suppliers Assn. (1994-1995), chairman of the American Foundry Society’s 4-M technical committee (1999-2001), and currently is a member of the Cope & Drag Club. In 2000 he was awarded the CISA President’s Award, and in 2002 he received an AFS Service Citation.

The Foundry Educational Foundation is the cast metals industry's college-level educational program at the college level. It includes a community college, four-year technology schools as well as traditional engineering colleges and graduate schools. It covers the range of education from production supervision to specialized research. The Mission of the Foundry Educational Foundation is to "strengthen the metal casting industry by supporting unique partnerships among students, educators and industry, helping today's students become tomorrow's leaders."
