New molding machine, sand-prep system, etc.
As part of an improvement project involving a new DISA 250C automated molding machine, M&H Valve Co., Anniston, AL, has ordered a new sand-preparation system from the Simpson Group. The order consists of a Simpson Technologies Model #MC-250 Simpson Multi-Cooler, to premix sand and cool returned sand; and two new Beardsley & Piper 100B-250 Speedmullors. These machines will be controlled by a Hartley Controls Corp. model #18Mk2/2552 Compactability controller, with the patented Bond Determinator feature.

Two Hartley 90Mk2-5 pneumatic bond weighing and transport devices connected to the Speedmullor will supply the mullers with the bond mixtures.

The sand plant will be designed and supplied by SandMold Systems, as well the material handling equipment.

M & H Valve Co. is a division of McWane Corp. that manufactures various products for municipal, private, and industrial water and wastewater treatment systems. This includes fire hydrants, gate valves, eccentric plug valves, mud valves, and others. The current project is aimed at increasing production capacity and improving casting quality.
