"Chip" McClure had been president/CEO at Federal-Mogul
Directors of ArvinMeritor Inc. named Charles G. "Chip" McClure to the posts of chairman, chief executive officer, and president, as of August 9, 2004. McClure has been president, CEO, and a director Federal-Mogul Corp. He succeeds Larry Yost, who is retiring.

"Chip McClure has the leadership skills, international experience, industry insight and strong customer relationships that will be a competitive advantage to lead ArvinMeritor," said James E. Perrella, chairman of the board’s succession committee.

At Federal-Mogul, McClure presided over significant improvements in business results, strengthened customer relations, and development of a strategic plan to make the company more competitive. He was instrumental in creating an aggressive plan to resolve issues related to the company's reorganization and emergence from Chapter 11.

McClure has over 25 years of automotive industry experience. He joined Federal-Mogul in January 2001 as a director, president, and chief operating officer, and became CEO in July 2003. He had previous executive experience at Detroit Diesel Corp. and Johnson Controls. He earned a M.B.A. from the University of Michigan, and holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University.

ArvinMeritor supplies integrated systems, modules, and components to the auto industry.
