Refinancing brings Onex into ownership role
J.L. French Automotive Castings Inc. is now majority-controlled by Onex Co., a Toronto-based holding company. A refinancing and recapitalization of the company over the past several weeks has given Onex an 80% ownership stake.

French, a secondary aluminum smelter and automotive diecaster, is now listed as a subsidiary of Onex and will not file financial independent statements. It now lists Sheboygan, WI, its operating headquarters, as its corporate base, not Minneapolis, its former headquarters.
