Cullman Castings to be a new North Vernon Industries venture
North Vernon Industry Corp., North Vernon, IN, a Toyota Industries Corp. subsidiary, has chosen Cullman, AL, as the site of a new, $60-million casting operation that is slated to start production as early as December 2005, according to reports.

Cullman Castings will be a gray iron operation producing heavy industrial components, including material handling and off-road vehicle parts. An executive of North Vernon, Jack Bodi, who will be the new plant’s vice president of operations, indicated that the local labor pool and the availability of gray iron from nearby automotive parts manufacturers, influenced the site selection.
