Masterman leaves Walbro for Spartan LMP

Spartan Light Metal Products Inc., a St. Louis diecaster, has appointed Andrew Masterman as its president and chief operating officer —— a new position the company has created to oversee growth and strategic planning.

Spartan Light Metal Products is a family-owned producer of custom aluminum and magnesium diecastings for automotive and consumer products. It has plants in Sparta, IL, and Mexico, MO, with over 700 employees.

Since 1999, Masterman has been president of Walbro Engine Management, Tucson, AZ, a unit of TI Automotive Ltd., Warren, MI. Over 13 years with Walbro he’s been a corporate strategic planner and held executive positions in Singapore and Japan. He’s been on Spartan's advisory board since 2003, and now will report to CEO Donald A. Jubel, Spartan's chief executive officer.
