New subsidiary provides extra U.S. manufacturing capacity, expands tech offerings

Asimco Technologies Ltd., a Beijing-based company, has acquired Livonia, MI-based NVH Concepts LLC, a manufacturer of automotive bushings, engine mounts, and body mounts for the global automotive industry.

Asimco produces powertrain, chassis, and diesel fuel-injection components, as well as noise/vibration/harnessing (NVH) products for light- and heavy- duty applications.

According to a release, the acquisition results in a new business unit, NVH Technologies, that will provide Asimco with extra U.S. manufacturing capacity and bring new technologies to its worldwide customers. It also adds product development and manufacturing capability in engine mounts, bushings, and other NVH products and a new composite material technology to the Asimco portfolio.

NVH Concepts’ new strong, lightweight composite material is considered a possible substitute for forged, cast, steel, aluminum or magnesium for produce structural components. It is working on programs with several U.S. OEMs to use the composite material, and plans to introduce it to automakers in China.

"Acquiring NVH Concepts moves Asimco forward as we create a global network focusing on global components, modules, and systems used in powertrain and chassis sections," said Jack Perkowski, Asimco Technologies chairman and CEO.
