New molding system, four furnaces – and plans for future

New London Foundry, an aluminum sand and permanent mold operation in New London, OH, reports it recently completed an expansion and modernization program.

A 15,000-ft2 addition to the foundry now houses a 20x24 Roberts Sinto molding system, as well as four 2,300-lb electric-resistance furnaces supplied by Thermtronix, and a ladle-pouring robot.

A new sand system was designed and built by States Engineering to accommodate two automatic molding lines at a later date. The design also was planned to be flexible enough to conform to New London’s existing tooling with minimal cost to customers.

New London Foundry is primarily a jobbing operation, and company president Bud Gregory observes that the expansion will ensure that the company “will be able to continue to provide excellent service, quality, and delivery to all our customers, regardless of size, for well into the future.”
