Closed operation is in Ontario, not Tennessee

Readers please note: In the December 2005 issue of Foundry Management & Technology (p.8) we noted the closing of Metal Technologies Woodstock Ltd., in Woodstock, ON. That operation was known as the Eureka Foundry until 2001.

Still very much in business, however, is the Eureka Foundry Co. in Chattanooga, TN. The sales manager of that 103-year-old, Chris Hetzler tells us “we are still in operation and plan to continue for many years to come.”

Eureka Foundry Co. is a jobbing operation that produces ductile iron, gray iron, Nihard and Meehanite castings in long and short production runs, pouring castings up to 20,000 lbs. Its products are sold to customer in various industries, including aluminum, steel, asphalt, concrete, valves, textiles, power generation, woodworking, pulp and paper, machine tool, pollution control, and material handling. In addition to metalcasting, Eureka performs machining, produces patterns, and performs machining, assembly, and coating.
