PAT operation in China orders three-position furnace

April 23, 2006 -- Consolidated Engineering Co., Kennesaw, GA, has been contracted to install a three-position continuous roller hearth furnace for PAT Dalian at its aluminum foundry at Dalian, China. PAT is a unit of PBR International, a subsidiary of Australia's Pacifica Group Ltd., a supplier of brake system technology.

CEC supplies heat-processing technology, specializing in heat-treatment packages for aluminum castings.

The roller-hearth furnace being installed at PAT Dalian will process cast brake components on a continuous basis at 535°C for solution and 70°C for age.

"We anticipate that this new roller hearth furnace will significantly streamline our process in the PAT Dalian aluminum casting plant," said Stephen White, casting development project manager for PBR. "We were impressed with CEC’s proposal and their demonstrated capability and technical acuity."
