Tennnessee plant produces ceramic fiber and alkaline-earth-silicate composition materials

May 4, 2006 --Thermal Ceramics reports it has purchased the Vesuvius fiber-insulation business located at Erwin, TN, where a range of ceramic fiber and alkaline-earth-silicate composition materials are manufactured. This includes Cer-Wool bulks, blankets and moldables/pumpables, Thermotect boards, PreMax anchored modules, and Pyroscat fire protection products.

Thermal Ceramic produces high-temperature fiber, refractory castable, and insulating firebrick products.

The addition of the new fiber products will extend Thermal Ceramics product offerings, the company expects it will and further solidify its position as the global supplier of high-temperature insulating materials.
