Goldens’ to install 120 molds/hour design

August 21, 2006 -- Goldens’ Foundry and Machine Company in Columbus, GA, has ordered a complete green-sand molding system from Savelli S.p.A. Savelli, based in Brescia, Italy, is represented in North America by MetalTech Systems, Pawleys Island, SC.

The system to be supplied to Goldens will operate at 120 molds per hour, with a flask size of 715 mm x 915 mm x 305 mm/305 mm. It will feature Savelli’s Form-Impress molding process, and the design includes mold handling controlled by the Savelli El-Mec electro-mechanical drive system rather than hydraulic cylinders. The design also includes a Mold Cooling Tower to receive the finished molds after they’re removed from the flask, minimizing capital costs of flasks and mold cars.

Delivery is scheduled for delivery in November 2006.
