Beck Aluminum lands exclusive deal with Butler, IN, foundry

January 8, 2007 — Citation Corp., producers of cast and machined automotive and truck components, reports it has a new agreement for its Butler, IN, foundry to purchase 100% of its aluminum alloys from Beck Aluminum, through the end of September 2007. Citation detailed that the Butler Div. purchases about $35 million/year of aluminum alloys.

In addition to the transportation markets, the Birmingham, AL-based foundry organization also supplies cast and machined components to construction and agricultural, and various commercial industries. The Butler Division supplies the automotive industry with A/C plant plates, differential brackets, knuckles, lower control arms, rocker arms, valve bodies, and other critical parts.

Larry Tackett, v.p.-Supply Management for Citation, stated: “Beck Aluminum has been one of our largest suppliers for many years and we continue to enjoy our close working relationship with them.

Tackett added that Beck's import business, Beck Aluminum International, and secondary smelting business, Beck Aluminum Alloys, are capable of delivering the Butler operation's entire aluminum alloy requirement "very effectively.”
