Investment tops $50 million

January 10, 2007 — According to local news reports, Neenah Foundry Co. will invest more than $50 million to build a new molding line at its metalcasting operation in Neenah, WI. Company president William Barrett told Wisconsin's Appleton Post-Crescent that construction of a 75,000-ft2 addition has been underway since last fall and will be complete in the first half of next year.

No construction or equipment contractor was named.

The new molding line will support Neenah’s production of municipal street castings (e.g., manhole covers, sewer grates), a market in which it specializes.

“It will replace an existing 40-year-old molding line with a new, state-of-the-art molding line,” Barrett told the newspaper. “This new molding line will give us increased capacity, a broader range of capability and lower costs.”
