Canadian brass foundry also orders extensive conveyor systems

March 27, 2007 — Riverside Brass, New Hamburg, ON, placed an order for a new rotary media drum with Didion International Inc., St. Peters, MO. Didion will install a Model MD-50 Mark 5 Series drum, which separates the sand from the brass castings as it degates and cleans them gently, so as not to damage the fragile structures — all while conditioning and double-screening the return sand.

Didion's affiliate Conveyor Dynamics Corp. is supplying the vibratory mold dump conveyor, a mold transfer/feed conveyor, a media discharge conveyor, and a sand return conveyor. The ferrous media is magnetically separated from the brass castings at the casting discharge end of the rotary media drum, and then conveyed back to the mold transfer/feed conveyor with an inclined conveyor.

The vibratory conveyors are described as "extra heavy duty, dynamically balanced and isolated to help protect against vibration transmission."
