Barrett to become firm's executive chairman

June 6, 2007 — Neenah Foundry Co, a producer of iron castings and steel forgings, has recruited Robert E. Ostendorf, Jr. as its new president and chief executive officer. Ostendorf also will have a board position with the Neenah, WI, company, beginning in early July.

Ostendorf is a former executive with Amcan Consolidated Technologies Corp., a Hamilton, ON, producer of aluminum and magnesium high-pressure permanent mold and sand castings, for applications that include transmission cases, engines and covers, differential carriers, and transfer cases.

He replaces William M. Barrett, the current CEO, president and chairman of Neenah Foundry, who is becoming the firm's executive chairman. According to Barrett, "Bob brings a tremendous amount of operating experience and capability to our company, and I look forward to working very closely with Bob on strategic matters and to accomplish a seamless transition."

Ostendorf is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy with a B.S.- Engineering degree, and of Troy State University with a M.B.A. He gained a range of operating experience in various senior management positions at Amcan Consolidated Technologies, and previously with Morgan Corp., a supplier of specialty truck bodies.

Neenah Foundry's products are supplied to the heavy municipal market and selected segments of the industrial markets. Neenah is one of the largest independent foundry companies in the United States, with substantial market share in the municipal and various industrial markets for gray and ductile iron castings and forged steel products.
