Changes in Organization at Ductile Iron Society
After retirements, group combines executive and technical directorships
Several organizational changes in the Ductile Iron Society were announced earlier this month. Longtime executive director Jack Hall has retired from the Society, as has technical director Jim Mullins. The Society's directors concluded that the best strategy in response to this development was to combine both positions, and to contract some of the administrative services to the Iron Casting Research Institute.
The Ductile Iron Society's mission is to advance the technology, art, and science of ductile iron production, and to promote the spread of this information by supporting research programs, exchanging technical and production knowledge, issuing reports and bulletins on research and new technologies, and offering advice on quality and certification to ductile iron producers.
The new executive director/technical director of the DIS is Jim Wood, who has a career of almost 30 years in the metalcasting industry, with foundries and more recently with Hickman, Williams & Co.
