Tecumseh Sells Automotive & Specialty Unit

Tecumseh Products Co. reported it sold its Automotive & Specialty operations for $10 million in cash to a private-equity group, Sun Capital Partners, as previously announced. The new business will be known as Von Weise USA Inc.,
Included in the sale are plants in Eaton Rapids, MI, Nappanee, IN, Juarez, Mexico, and Cambridge, ON. The Automotive & Specialty business had operated as the Fasco brand until Tecumseh sold its Electrical Components business to Regal Beloit Corp. earlier this year.
Michigan-based Tecumseh manufactures hermetic compressors for residential and commercial refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, air conditioners, and heat pumps.
