Ottawa Shelkore will refocus on machining

Supreme Cores Inc., Milwaukee, reported recently it has acquired Ottawa Shellkore, Ottawa, IL, including more than 25 stock core boxes, four “pig” mold boxes, and two other pieces of manufacturing equipment. No purchase price was stated.

In addition, Supreme Cores details it is adding 16 new customers to its portfolio of more than 125 foundries in the U.S. and Canada. The Wisconsin company supplies sand cores and molds, and it has a satellite operation in South Carolina, Supreme Cores of the Carolinas Inc., that serves 30 foundries in the Southeast.

It says the new assets and customers will result in adding a few more employees to its operation. Currently, it employs 65 workers.

Ottawa Shellkore will continue to offer casting machining services to metalcasters.
