$25,000 order for Cadillac, BMW clutch components
Thresher Industries has a contract to supply Alto Products Corp. with aluminum tooling and parts for two its transmission rebuild kits for Cadillac and BMW vehicles. Alto Products, Atmore, AL, is an independent manufacturer of automotive clutches, as well as clutches for high-performance and heavy-duty products, and motorcycle and marine transmissions.

Thresher is a Hanford, CA, manufacturer of aluminum and metal-matrix composite cast parts. It reports it made it initials delivery of parts to Alto’s engineering group in September, which gave initial dimensional approval. Now, the parts are undergoing durability testing and performance testing in vehicle transmissions.

The rest of the order is now being manufactured and prepared for shipment.

Tom Flessner, president and CEO of Thresher Industries stated: "We are very pleased to have this project on track and believe we will give Alto a product that performs significantly better than the current conventional aluminum part. Working with their technical director we are taking the product to a higher level as we continue to work on developing even more durable materials for them."

The purchase order is for engineering, tooling and parts to be used by Alto Products Corporation in two of their transmission rebuild kits for Cadillac and BMW automobiles. Thresher had submitted and received approval from Alto for the engineering drawings, completed tool design and tooling with first articles submitted to Alto and dimensionally approved in September. Currently the remainder of the order is being completed and prepared for delivery to Alto.
