Ferrous foundry has first leadership change in over 30 years

The Dotson Co., a ferrous job-shop foundry in Mankato, MN, has named Jean Bye as the replacement for its longtime president, Dennis Dotson.  Dotson has been president of the foundry since 1978, when he succeeded his father.

“I took over a good company from my father and made it better,” Dotson recalled. “Jean has this same challenge. It is my deep belief that with Jean's leadership, drive and commitment, the company will go from good to great.”

Bye is also a veteran of the company. She has been employed at Dotson for 35 years. Her most recent responsibilities covered all plant administration, IT and engineering functions.  She holds an undergraduate degree from Minnesota’s Concordia College and a Master of Business Administration from Minnesota State University.

The Dotson Co. — which calls itself “the world's most automated jobbing foundry” — produces gray, ductile, and austempered ductile iron components for various automotive and other vehicle structural and drivetrain applications.
