"Quality foundry alloy products" strengthen Midwest presence
Beck Aluminum, a Cleveland-based supplier of aluminum alloys, has acquired the former assets in Met-Al Inc., Racine, WI, for an unnamed price.

“We are very pleased with the addition of the quality foundry alloy products from Racine,” according to company president Scott Beck. “It strengthens our Midwest presence to better serve the market. By combining Beck’s strengths with Racine’s production capabilities and location, we will more effectively meet our customer’s needs and this moves us another step forward in our recycling growth strategy.”

Beck Aluminum produces aluminum alloys, but also works as an importer of primary aluminum and alloy through its trading arm. Recently, it has earned attention as the licensee of Delphi Technologies Inc. for that company’s K-Alloy and K-Alloy SP corrosion-resistant aluminum alloys.

Beck is said to be the largest distributor of aluminum foundry ingot in the U.S.

Met-Al’s president Bob Lee called the purchase “a great opportunity for our skilled employees to continue producing alloy for our loyal customers, as well as to expand with new Beck customers.”
