Winner of "Best Large Deal of the Year (Over $100 Million)"
Crain's Detroit Business has named Grede Holdings LLC its winner of the Mergers & Acquisitions Award for 2010, citing its formation as the "Best Large Deal of the Year (Over $100 Million)." This is the fourth year of the M&A Awards, presented in cooperation with the Detroit chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Through the merging of assets of Grede Foundries and Citation Corporation, and the acquisition of Blackhawk Foundry, the new-look Grede Holdings LLC now boasts over 3,700 employees at 13 foundries and three machining operations in the U.S., serving the transportation and industrial markets globally.

"We are very pleased to have been recognized by the judges of Crain's M&A Awards," said chairman, president, and CEO Doug Grimm. "Many man-hours went into the planning and execution of these transactions." Grimm will accept the award on behalf of Grede at the ceremonies at The Somerset Inn in Troy, MI on March 10.

"Quite frankly, the reason for our success is the men and women of Grede who worked tirelessly toward the integration of the three businesses," continued Grimm. "We are also grateful to our customers for working with us as we went through the integration. They quickly understood that the combination of the three companies, which significantly expanded our manufacturing footprint as well as complimented our existing products and processes, was in their best interest."
