Truck builder honors foundry’s less than 50 ppm achievement

US Aluminum Castings in Entiat, WA, reports it earned the 2010 Letter of Recognition from PACCAR recently, for maintaining a quality-control standard that keeps substandard pieces below 50 ppm,. PACCAR, Bellevue, WA, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of commercial trucks, which carry brand names like DAF, Kenworth, and Peterbilt.

USAC is a business unit of the Philadelphia-based Advanced Metals Group that produces no-bake, permanent mold, lost foam, and green sand castings for aerospace, defense, and general commercial markets, as well as commercial truck manufacturers. It produces aluminum and cast iron castings at four plants. The Entiat foundry produces a variety of cast, machined, and powder-coated parts for PACCAR.

According to PACCAR’s statement, other suppliers that have received the recognition include Alcoa, Eaton, SKF and Parker Hannifin.
