Dublin, OH-based Cast Strategies LLC entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Aluminum Casters' Association of India (ALUCAST) to promote the Indian diecasting community in North America.
Cast Strategies LLC is headed by former Ashland Inc. vice president and managing director of Ashland India, Mike Swartzlander. The company consults to senior management and owners of manufacturing businesses, focusing on specialty chemicals, formulated chemical products, technical services in chemical markets, and metal components like castings, forgings, fabrications, and assemblies.
Indian metalcasters are seeking joint-venture partner opportunities with North American-based companies to meet the growing requirements of OEMs and other businesses in the Indian automotive sector. In particular, the nonferrous castings market offers the greatest opportunity for growth, and ALUCAST members are seeking partners to "help them meet the fast changing marketplace demands," according to Swartzlander.
"India's rapidly growing middle class, as well as an extraordinary spend on infrastructure, assures double-digit growth in its non-ferrous castings market well into the future," he continued. "We look forward to working with ALUCAST to generate understanding and interest for India among U.S. metalcasters."
