VORTEC's personal air conditioners (PACs) use a compressed-air supply and vortex tube technology to keep workers comfortable in extremely hot environments. With no moving parts, the vortex tube spins compressed air to force a simple heat exchange that produces cold air to 60°F below the inlet temperature. The small vortex tube, worn on a supplied belt, is connected to Vortec's diffuse-air vest, which has a perforated lining to provide cooled air delivery over the upper body. Temperature can be adjusted also. www.vortec.com
