Module updates detailed New e-mail notifications Beta feature for multiple browser functionality

B&L INFORMATION SYSTEMS, a developer of ERP software for foundries and diecasters, introduced a new version of its Odyssey platform for general availability. Odyssey 4.6 is available for download – by subscribers that host the ERP on their own servers — and Software as a Service (SaaS) subscribers will be contacted contacted with an update schedule.

Odyssey is an ERP platform designed to give all users in a metalcasting operation, automatically, the information needed to complete jobs on time and on budget.

The software is structured as functional modules that address the specific needs of metalcasting in five major categories — management, accounting, sales, production, and quality control. The platform makes it possible for information to be shared and received by everyone, without extra effort.

The release notes for Odyssey 4.6 provide detailed explanations of each function, and are available online. The developer noted that significant enhancements were made across all modules

Among highlights of the new version, the Shop Floor Manager Module now allows for e-mail notifiers to be sent when jobbing on or off particular jobs. For critical jobs requiring oversight, the e-mail notification can be sent for any step in the product’s routing.

Also, in the Maintenance Management Module, the new Equipment Downtime Functionality allows for auto-creation of: maintenance work orders, e-mail notifications, and re-sets equipment status using a new color coded alert system.

A beta feature of the 4.6 release is the ability to use Shop Floor Manager with any browser-based device, for Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome or Safari. This eliminates the need for specialty devices and third-party software interfaces. (Clients interested in participating in the beta test should contact [email protected].) Odyssey users can update from any version of Odyssey to Odyssey 4.6.
