Ashland Casting Solutions has unveiled a new mobile laboratory, EXPRESS LAB, that offers foundry-specific diagnostic capabilities, including measuring the physical attributes of sand systems and the performance capabilities of resin systems.
ACS is a business group of Ashland Specialty Chemical that supplies products, technologies, and services to the global metalcasting industry.
Other capabilities offered by the new service include structured testing for core-sand analysis, molding-sand analysis, and casting performance evaluation. EXPRESS LAB also will provide on-site instruction from ISO 9002-certified trainers.
The EXPRESS LAB service will provide foundry operators with real-time results to help improve process control and reduce scrap, according to ACS. Mike Swartzlander, v.p. of Ashland Specialty Chemical, and general manager, Ashland Casting Solutions, states: “By introducing EXPRESS LAB to the castings industry, we can deliver the highest level of expertise possible to foundry locations throughout North America. EXPRESS LAB packages distinct capabilities into applications aimed at improving bottom-line performance that can be delivered to the foundry on site.”
