Georg Fischer Starts Diecasting Plant in China

Plans 24 machines producing aluminum, magnesium parts

GF Automotive, a part of the Georg Fischer organization, has started operating its new light metal diecasting plant in Suzhou, China. The plant was completed in August and inaugurated on October 26.

According to GF, manufacturing at the new plant will be gradually expanded to increase production as demand grows from automotive manufacturers and supplies in China. When fully developed, the operation will have four buildings and 24 casting machines.

The company says the Suzhou plant "enjoys high capacity utilization, with orders coming from European and Chinese customers from the local automotive industry who increasingly want to draw on the innovative casting technology of Georg Fischer in China."

The company also plans to develop new products to meet meet specific customer needs.
