Hunter Automated Machinery Corp., Schaumburg, IL, has arrived at a global licensing and marketing agreement with Space Srl, a supplier of foundry technology and equipment based in Lonate Pozzolo, Italy. Hunter gains exclusive global manufacturing and sales rights for Space green-sand plant equipment outside of Europe; and Space will now be Hunter’s agent for sales and service of Hunter equipment across Europe.
Hunter is a globally recognized designer and manufacturer of horizontal matchplate molding and mold handling equipment. It boasts over 1,600 installations in more the 40 countries. Space is seen as a leading supplier of green-sand processing, preparation, and control equipment. Its many worldwide installations include major automotive casting producers, and the company has earned several prestigious technological awards.
Bill Hunter, president of Hunter Automated Machinery Corporation, states: “The cooperation between Hunter and Space now allows Hunter to offer the foundry industry well-respected technologies of quality, world-class sand-preparation systems … systems that will be manufactured and supported locally … to compliment our lines of horizontal matchplate molding and mold handling equipment. ”
He explained that the expanded capabilities (which includes sand-preparation plants) was made possible because of an earlier agreement between Space and Fontec Srl, and that agreement allows Hunter to market “B” series Speedmullers and Aer-A-Mix conversions for Speedmullers, "which eliminates the mulling wheels in favor of two high-speed intensive aerators, to increase hourly capacity and improve sand quality.”
