Intermet reports it has started up a robotic press cell at its New River Foundry in Radford, VA, where it handles and cleans light-truck differential carriers. The installation removes casting residue and reduces heavy manual labor, and verifies process results with a laser vision system. Read more

Ontario Orders Safety Improvements at Peninsula Alloy
The Ontario Ministry of Labour directed a Stevensville, ON, foundry to address a series of workplace safety violations following an explosion and fire on March 26, which seriously injured one worker. Read more

Chinese manufacturer American Metal & Technology Inc. has acquired four new CNC lathes. American Metal is in the midst of the second phase of its four-phase capacity expansion plan. Read more
