VOMAT GMBH supplies filtration systems for cooling fluids and grinding oils, helping metal producing companies to contain operating costs and improve product quality.  The company specializes in micro-filtration systems for metal cooling lubricants, which are used for materials like carbide, HSS, PKD, and CBN.

The product portfolio consists of standalone, modular, central plant, and custom-designed filtration systems. Options such as in-line or external drive cooling, advanced sludge disposal or add-on tanks allow for optimal system adaptation to almost any customer wish or application needs.

The systems are available in different sizes and configurations. The Vomat FA 120-480 series, for example, can filter 120 to 480 liters/minute (32–126 Gal/Min)

“Vomat systems are perfect for micro-filtration of cooling and cutting oils used in processes such as grinding, honing, lapping, and other processes,” explained Stephan Hecht, general manager of the exclusive U.S. distributor, Oelheld U.S. Inc. “Their compact size of 1.0x1.0x1.6 m (40x40x60 in.) and their maintenance-friendly design require much less floor space, and offer increased performance than larger machines of less innovative design.”

Vomat’s design uses full stream filtration with on-demand automatic backwash cycles to clean its high-performance filter cartridges for extended service life. In automatic cycle mode, this technology guarantees (depending on the degree of accumulated dirt) not only 100% separation of dirty and clean oil, but also NAS 7 (3 µm) quality clean oil supply to the workpiece.

Moreover, the use of newly designed settling filters does not require any other filtration agents. The oil volume of the FA 120-420 series Vomat systems is about 500 liters, the variable oil volume about 200 liters.
