The re-styled entry to LCC’s Center for Manufacturing Excellence: “We wanted students to see and believe that working in manufacturing could be a cool career… and that Lansing Community College would be a great place to start,” recalled Daren Bossenberger, President of Ideation Orange.
The Lansing Community College CME trains students for careers in advanced automation and manufacturing.
A cool career
The Lansing Community College CME houses equipment and robotics similar to what students may expect to find in a real-life workplace. Thanks to its branded environment, it also sets the stage for manufacturing as “a cool career.”
The LCC Center for Manufacturing Excellence includes advanced robotics comparable to systems used in actual manufacturing.
The CME’s redesigned space uses color and graphics to make an impression of the technological resources available, and promote pride in advanced manufacturing.

“We want our team to be proud of where they work, and also enjoy their areas of the building,” according to Mark Garrett, President of Morrell Group, an Auburn Hills, Mich.-based manufacturing and engineering firm.
In its industrial space, Morrell Group’s national impact is highlighted and organizational pride is promoted with brand messaging.
“We have had fantastic feedback from our visitors and feel Ideation helped us achieve our original goals,” according to Mark Garrett, President of Morrell Group.
