“Time of Flight” technology Stability over long or short distances Easy to set up, operate

KEYENCE CORPORATION OF AMERICA introduced the LR-T Series multi-purpose laser sensor, calling it a complement to its sensor lineup with “superior detection stability, ease of operation, and unmatched versatility.” Potentially limiting factors like target characteristics reportedly do not affect the LR-T’s detection ability, allowing it to be used in a broad range of applications. It is also durable and user-friendly, making it suitable “for virtually any sensing situation in any environment.”

The LR-T’s high level of detection ability is due to its Time of Flight (TOF) technology and custom integrated circuit. When paired together, these details allow the LR-T to provide consistently stable detection over long or short distances, regardless of target surface type, color, or finish. Even environmental factors like ambient light, mist, or excessive dust will not affect the LR-T’s detection ability.

The OLED display screen that clearly shows the operator all of the important values needed for setup, calibration, and operation. Intuitive menus make navigation through functions and settings fast and simple, so setup and operation are both user friendly.

A large, bright indicator light that can be seen from any angle specifies the status of the sensor to the operator. Troubleshooting and calibration are both simplified as a result, so time lost and frustration due to complicated menus and ambiguous buttons are essentially eliminated.

Advanced features like an adjustable beam spot and application-specific detection modes allow the LR-T to be configured and tuned to maximize performance in any situation, while its long-distance capability allows the sensor to be mounted out of the way and still deliver superior performance. Additionally, the LR-T’s compact and durable metal housing boasts an IP65/IP67 enclosure rating, making it suitable for both wash-down and other harsh environments.
