MCA Solutions software will support aftermarket distribution business

Briggs & Stratton Corp. recently implemented MCA Solutions' Service Planning and Optimization (SPO) suite, to increase fill rates, reduce inventory, and to service its network of global distribution centers.

MCA's SPO suite helps companies improve service supply chains by reducing inventory, lowering support costs, and improving service levels. "Briggs & Stratton understands the long-term value in providing efficient and effective after-sales support, and is committed to finding and integrating the best solutions on the market," said MCA president and CEO Bob Salvucci. "SPO gives planners one, integrated global-planning system to ensure that the right parts are where they need to be, when they need to be there."

Briggs & Stratton produces gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, portable generators, and pressure washers, among other equipment. It selected MCA for its forecasting, optimization, and distribution-centric capabilities, and its compatibility and ease-of-integration with Briggs & Stratton's existing SAP ERP system.

"Trying to project service-parts needs has been an immense undertaking," stated John Guy, v.p. of distribution at Briggs & Stratton. "With MCA Solutions' SPO software, we're able to eliminate the guesswork and accurately manage inventory to save money and consistently meet and exceed our customers' needs."

Briggs & Stratton products are designed, manufactured, marketed, and serviced in more than 100 countries, and the MCA solution is being used to support all product lines through Briggs & Stratton's distribution network. SPO makes it possible to optimize and automate workflows faster, to increase planner productivity. It's also scaleable to support Briggs & Stratton's growing aftermarket business.
