Buker to head compressor/engine manufacturer

Edwin L. Buker, who resigned as president and CEO of Citation Corp. last week, is the new chief executive officer of Tecumseh Products Co., an independent manufacturer of hermetic compressors for air conditioning and refrigeration products, gasoline engines, and powertrain components for lawn and garden applications, industrial pumps, and small electric motors.

Buker also will be a director of Tecumseh, and eventually will succeed David M. Risley as chairman of the board for the company.

Citation, a cast-metal components producer, also named a new chairman and executive committee in its management reorganization.

Before joining Citation, Buker had been vice president and general manager of the Chassis Systems division at Visteon Automotive; president, Electrical Systems-The Americas, for United Technologies Automotive; and vice president of New Model Development for BMW Manufacturing Corp.

Buker had management positions at BMW's Spartanburg, SC, facility and at Honda of America's East Liberty, OH, manufacturing plant.

Risley stated: "The appointment of Ed Buker as chief executive officer adds a seasoned, proven, highly successful executive to Tecumseh. His manufacturing expertise, customer orientation and overall management and strategic acumen make him an ideal choice to lead Tecumseh's continuing efforts to improve its operational and financial performance."
